Chosen Design Option: Na Foraí Maola to Cappagh – 09/11/2015
Following feedback received from landowner meetings, submissions received and further assessment the design option to be progressed from Na Foraí Maola to Cappagh has been selected. The design will incorporate:
- Staggered junction at Na Foraí Maola as shown in Option F;
- Staggered junction at Truskey West (Paintbox Road) as shown in Option C;
- No new link road between Na Foraí Maola and Truskey West (local access only);
- The alignment of the proposed mainline at the Anne Gibbons Road to be moved further north away from existing homes, similar to Option C;
- The at-grade roundabout on the Bearna – Moycullen Road, will be at a similar location to Option A and Option B;
- The proposed mainline will be in a cut below the Aille Road as shown in Option A;
- An at-grade on-line roundabout at Cappagh Road as shown in Option B;
- An at-grade on-line roundabout at Ballymoneen Road as shown in Option A, Option B and Option C;
- The proposed road will be a single carriageway from the R336 Coast Road to the proposed roundabout on Ballymoneen Road;
Please note that the design described is not finalised as the design process is ongoing. Further details are yet to be included such as additional access roads, drainage design, mitigation measures, accommodation works etc.
