Bulletin # 16 Update of Project Timeline – 28/05/2018
The final meeting with An Bord Pleanála, as part of the pre-application consultation process, took place in the last month. The planning application for the N6 Galway City Ring Road is currently being finalised and will be submitted to An Bord Pleanála upon government approval.
When the planning application is submitted to An Bord Pleanála, the statutory process will begin and legal notification will be posted to all property owners (and occupiers) from whom property is to be acquired as part of the project. The legal notification will comprise of an individual letter and a server map (drawing showing lands to be acquired).
Design update letters are currently being issued to all those who will receive a legal notification as part of the planning application process. Please note that this letter and accompanying map and any previous letters issued during the course of the project are not a Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) and a CPO has not been served on any property to date as part of this project. A drawing of the final design will be uploaded later this week.
When the planning application is submitted, a submission can be made to An Bord Pleanála in respect to the Environmental Impact Assessment Report. Those included in the Motorway Scheme/Protected Road Scheme can make a submission with respect to the proposed acquisition of their property. The planning application documents will be available on the project website and in hard copy in Galway City and County Council offices and certain local libraries.
We are available at the project office to meet and discuss this project if you have any questions. Please contact us on 091 460675.
A further Bulletin will be uploaded in June 2018.
