Project Phases
Overview of Phases:
The National Roads Authority 2010 Project Management Guidelines outline a framework for the phased approach to the development, management and delivery of major national road scheme in Ireland. The guidelines are structured so as to ensure consistency in this approach throughout the entire national road network. The guidelines divide the evolution and progression of the scheme into 7 Phases:
- Phase 1 Scheme Concept and Feasibility Studies
- Phase 2 Route Selection
- Phase 3 Design
- Phase 4 EIA/EAR & The Statutory Processes
- Phase 5 Advance Works & Construction Documents Preparation, Tender & Award
- Phase 6 Construction & Implementation
- Phase 7 Handover, Review & Closeout
The current commission of the N6 Galway City Transport Project is for the delivery of Phase 1 to 4 of the project management guidelines. The phases are described in further detail in their individual tabs.
